In IO Psychology, two concepts can explain this well. One is Organizational Healthiness and another one is Transactional Model of Stress.
Organizational Healthiness puts focus on company’s subsystems to deal with wellbeing or healthiness. The subsystems can be:
- staff engagement
- general staff training
- leadership training
- people policy making
- corporate activities
For these subsystems, they are basically addressing 4 elements in the Transactional Model of Stress. They are CADS:
- Coping thru staff engagement
- Ability thru staff training
- Demand thru leadership training
- Support thru policy and cultural activities
In Wellbeing Organisation, wellbeing and performance are in positive relation. Therefore, the way to boosting up staff performance, other than traditionally increasing skills, can be increasing the level of staff wellbeing.
